About

Why have I produced this website and written this book?

I had never really been ill before and considered myself as strong as an ox and with a winning smile to boot. Oh can the mighty be humbled.

I was frightened. One day winding down to a much needed holiday; the next, to be diagnosed with Bells Palsy (one side) and told to rest and within less than a week, to have Bilateral Bell’s Palsy (both sides) and be totally EXPRESSIONLESS and….. in hospital.

Needless to say, this rather wiped the smile off my face !!!

I needed information and needed it very quickly (the reason why this is a digital book) yet no one seemed to know anything about it; which is not good !

I searched chemists, bookshops and clinics, but to no avail. Even doctors and consultants seemed to have differing views as to what caused it and what, if any, was the best treatment.

As I write in 2010 I have had Bell’s Palsy now for 4 years. I could say that one side is totally better, however it is truly amazing to still see regular improvements. The other side (65% healed) is still very noticeable, to me at least, yet continues to improve.

Within this period of time I have experienced, researched and learnt a lot. I hope that this website and book will give you the immediate information you need to understand and help you or your loved one to relax a little, laugh a little and grow into your recovery full of knowledge and hope.

I would love to hear about your experiences and how this website and book has been useful to you. I will always do my very best to reply to you.

Thank you to anyone purchasing the book. All the funds are greatly appreciated and enable the site to keep running,

I wish you a speedy and complete recovery. God Bless You.

Robert Wilkinson.
